When I replaced my alloy Gusher, I disassembled it and coated all the internals, particularly the valve sealing surfaces, with USS TefGel. Further, I never leave salt water in the pump. I always flush the bilge with dock water and try to leave that in the pump. -- Dennis C. Touche' 35-1 #83 Man

Hi Derek, I had the exact same thing happen to me and I was given a Titan pump from a colleague. The same problem with my Gusher - too much corrosion inside to rebuild the pump. The Titan just wouldn't fit so I ended up buying a replacement Gusher on eBay for a good price, Replacement was easy!

I DNF'ed my race last night due to lack of wind (Halifax). Generally, Halifax faired pretty well I think.  We had some storm surge covering the parking lot for a bit but no damage at Armdale Yacht club.  Not sure how others faired, but I didn't hear of any Nova Scotia clubs or boats suffering
