Hi Fred, I would go with the local experts' experience and recommendations. The environment / climate / water chemistry and temperature / local fauna has strong influences on how a bottom paint will perform.
Here down South the best overall paint on the Lake is Pettit Trinidad SR / Trinidad Pro SR "SR" means Slime Reduction and the Pro is the same stuff just that it's sold to folks with a commercial account. That was the Guru recommendation and the results are very impressive. Trinidad is a "Hard" (It softens some in the water) paint modified epoxy that can be burnished to an almost mirror finish which is pretty fast for racing and it lasted 4 years on my boat before I had any noticeable growth. I had to brush the fuzz about every 6-8 weeks in the 5th year. For slime: even from the first few months after applying we do get a thin layer of slime (Like 1/32") that is easy to brush off, is no big deal if you don't race and worth about .5 knots if you do. The slime needs to be brushed off every 6 weeks or so if you're racing. The paint is not ablative so you do have to sand it off when it's time to repaint but it's pretty fast, effective, and lasts a very long time and worth it in my opinion. Personally, I now use the newer Pettit Black Widow which is a similar paint but with PTFE for added racing speed. So far (1.5 years) the anti-foul properties are very similar to Trinidad. -Francois Rivard 1990 34+ "Take Five" Lake Lanier, GA
