I heard my first Pine Siskins of the winter early today! They were with a
flock of goldfinches, which are eating the last of my berries and thistle
from a feeder.

Hello Fellow Birders,
Yesterday it was a Western Tanager gracing my little townhouse yard near
Holly & Arapahoe in west Centennial. Today a Lesser Goldfinch is here, and the
over-wintering group of 4 Pine Siskins has multiplied to 10-plus. Oh, and the
tanager is still here.

Hello Fellow Birders, On this briefly sunny but now ominously dark morning a
flock of five Pine Siskins joined the usual suspects at the feeders in my
little townhouse yard near Holly and Arapahoe. Hadn't seen them here in a
long, long time. Keep Smilin',Kevin Sent from my Remington Rand Typewr
Just hoping you all can confirm (or correct) my ID of pine siskin on these?
(I’m pretty much always wrong when it comes to the finches. LOL)
Thanks so much!

Not a rarity by any stretch, but I have a flock of 6-7 pine siskins on my
feeders this morning. I hear them occasionally in our neighborhood just SE
of Wadsworth and Bowles in Littleton, but this is the first time on our
feeders. Nice contrast with the constant house finches!

Hello Again,
Mid-afternoon on Mother's Day a flock of 5+ Pine Siskins joined the
parade of birds through my little townhouse yard in west Centennial. Three
unusual species in three days. You'd think there was some kind of migration
going on!

COBirders-- Yesterday for the first time in more than a year I had pine
siskins at my backyard feeders. They like Niger (thistle/nyjer) seed.

I have a small flock of about ten pine siskins in fairly regular attendance
at my backyard feeder in Old Town Fort Collins, just four blocks from where
the brown thrasher has been reported seen. They were here on the morning
of Sunday, January 12.

We had about 10 pine siskins here eating thistle twice so far this morning. We
also had a larger flock a couple of weeks ago. I think the snow and cold
weather brought them today. Also have a beautiful male spotted towhee. He too
was here a few weeks ago.

I haven't had pine siskins on my feeder in a couple of years, but they're
here today in suburban Littleton. Three of them at the moment.
