Thank you for your contribution to Apache Doris.
Don't know what should be done next? See [How to process your
PR](https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/DORIS/How+to+process+your+PR).

   Please clearly describe your PR:
   1. What problem was fixed (it's best to include specific error reporting
information). How it was fixed.
   2. Which behaviors were modified. What was the previous behavior, what is it
now, why was it modified, and what possible impacts might there be.
   3. What features were added. Why was this function added?
   4. Which code was refactored and why was this part of the code refactored?
   5. Which functions were optimized and what is the difference before and
after the optimization?

[PR] [Fix][Function] Support 0 or negative max_limit for split_by_regexp function [doris]

2026-06-03 Thread via GitHub

XnY-wei opened a new pull request, #64086:
URL: https://github.com/apache/doris/pull/64086

   …it is applied

   ### What problem does this PR solve?

   Issue Number: close #xxx

   Related PR: #xxx

   Problem Summary:
According to the official Apache Doris documentation, for the
split_by_regexp function: "If max_limit is 0 or negative, no limit is applied."
However, the previous FE analyzer implementation strictly required the third
parameter (max_limit) to be a positive constant. Passing 0 or a negative value
threw an error: the third parameter of split_by_regexp function must be a
positive constant. This PR relaxed the validation logic in the FE analyzer to
allow 0 and negative constants for the max_limit parameter, aligning the
implementation with the official documentation and expected behavior.
