As of the 2.0 Alpha 2 release, the maven checkstyle plugin produced about 2500 style violations. We created a task to clean this up by the beta release, and Mike has taken on this task.
There are a few other coding conventions used in other Jakarta projects, as well as other commons projects. We are reviewing these in consideration of our own checkstyle enforced coding standard.
