There are no problems in the compiz log you pasted, gnome-session just
shuts down compiz too soon.

A work-around for users is to do this manually with the compizconfi-
settings-manager package. By default, Lucid enables the "Static
Application Switcher". It's probably time to make the default
"Application Switcher", and to reassign the "Tab" key to
next_panel, rather than next_window(all), and
