If we included a line for every small change like this in the release
notes they'd be so long no one would read them. There are a lot of small
changes every release. The hope is the changes make things better so
people don't mind.

well as long as you have actually seen some users which got confused by
it, the change is fine for me. But it still took me like 5min digging in
gconf-editor to find the correct checkbox. So you could maybe include a

showing that this behavior is confusing, but we should err on the side
