Product: rpmdrake Component: rpmdrake Summary: rpmdrake causes X memory leak Version: 2.1-2mdk Platform: PC OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Problem: X starts to eat up memory when rpmdrake has been running for a long time (3+ hours). The first time I noticed it, I left rpmdrake running overnight, and came back to this error on the console: rpmdrake: Fatal IO error 2 (Cannot allocate memory) on X server :0.0. A ps from a separate test shows: root 7308 0.5 80.6 286932 207028 ? R 11:56 2:44 /etc/X11/X :0 -deferglyphs 16 -auth /var/lib/gdm/:0.Xauth vt8 This may be a general perl-GTK2 problem, but I haven't tested with other *drake programs yet. Details of how I reproduce: (using a fluxbox session from gdm) 1 Start rpmdrake from an Eterm window. Leave it running (ie you don't have to do anything to cause the leak) 2 Do an occasional ps to see how much memory X is taking up. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
