I like the look of the new rpmdrake, but
I feel that the radio buttons 'Normal information', and 'Maximum
information' should be replaced with three notebook tabs reading:
'Information', 'Files' and 'Changelog'.
The relevant information should be placed in these tabs.
Keep up the good work :)

Btw, I miss the changelog section very much. Although that is not a

Indeed, by all means the new RPMDRAKE is a true downgrade on the interface.

And being able to "browse" to the local source was a great feature that
I sorely miss. It was also much easier in the "old days" because the app
found the hdlist for you within the source if it was there, which was a
nice feature. Please bring it back!! Adding/Editing sources is now a
real pain.

Well, just like bubbles in the wallpaper, as soon as the busy cursor bug
is splatted in one package (harddrake2 - thanks for the fix!) it pops up
somewhere else; the new rpmdrake has inherited this bug :). Just like
harddrake used to, when I run rpmdrake my cursor turns into the busy
cursor foreve

Please bring MandrakeUpdate back as a seperate tool,
that way people can still easily get their security
updates even when rpmdrake is broken (like in 8.1).
Unless the new rpmdrake is going to be real
streamlined, simple, and impossible to get wrong (aka
nothing like the current one), I think it'

72mdk and 73mdk both work for me, except that the progress indications
seem to be broken (see my previous e-mail about what I think of the
'Invoking rpminst' and other progress indicators in MandrakeUpdate).
However, this was only after my rpm database mysteriously corrupted

Obviously the code for new features is gonna be in debug mode for a
little while (ie, not aimed at efficiency) but would you care for us to
break with the 'only fix what you're gonna ship' policy and do some
profiling or other perf drudgery

I've been told that I should communicate more on rpmdrake/mandrakeuupdate
aka "Software Manager", so I do.
I've just uploaded a new release of rpmdrake (1.3-73mdk), which should fix
the "rpmdrake does nothing" bug. I.e. packages are now correctly installed.
At least it works on my fre
