Check out the, "Deadheads Taping Compendium" Series.  Each volume gives a list 
of what the contributors consider to be the best versions of each song from 
that era.  These can be difficult to find and expensive to buy, however.  If 
you can get your hands on them, they'll prove to be a great resource.  Rock on.

Subject: Best Versions Played?

Is there a place to find a solid list of the best versions of a bunch of
Dead songs?  There seems to be a lot of well-informed opinions in the
comments sections for shows on archive.org and they often lead me to
versions that no one mentioned in the Deadbase reader's polls, which is
surprising to me.  Obviously, its hard to look at  all the comments for
each show on archive.org.  Is there a place besides Deadbase where this
has been attempted?
