ide of the stage. We were joking pre-show about all of that power not
knowing what was soon to happen. Pretty funny, it was.
Thanks

Part of set 2 of this show was included as filler on the CD version of
View from the Vault 3 (?) (the RFK 6-14-91 show), including the
two-verse Dark Star. You could update the timings and note the 2-verse
Dark Star in Deadlists.
Thanks

I think you guys do I great job. I use your info every time I list
the shows we play on our website. I have found very few mistakes with
your data. ..none that I can remember right now . except this one.
I just listened to Eaton's recording from the master rea
Road Trips III.3 does have Deep Elem to start the late show, which
isn't on the circulating version, so that list I just

At this point I leave it to the pros!

where they did play OMSN. Casey Jones was the
encore on 12/10. According to deadlists, only the last 17min of this show
circulates in any form. It was a mighty fine show, though--I was there.
Hope this helps,

When I next saw them in 1974, the PA was more or less the same, just like
in the 1974 diagram. So I guess they did like it.

in site however (http://fleetwoodmac.net/penguin/peter.htm), they
give PG's last gig date as 5/28/70, but no mention of the Dead or a

gig.

legal issues among the 3 bands involved (not to mention the legion of

quality would be far more to my tastes than any of the "Views From the

If you want to see it for yourself, go the address above, click 1970, and

the date I rec'd it, I'd say there were no DAT or PCM conversions done on

Does anyone have any info on the Dead's 3/17/70 jam with the Bflo.
Philharmonic Orchestra and Lukas Foss? Anyone dare record that? I heard
it was supposed to be a multi-hour jam, with two bands, etc... and I
know of Phil Lesh's recollections of it. But is there more out there?
I'd appreciate it...
ll three sets. I'd love a DAT copy to
transfer, I even have a digital soundcard, but alas, no DAT deck.
Being caretaker of 1991 (sounds funny, even in text!) I thought you'd be a
good person to ask.
Thanks for your time.

And, BTW, the "Madison Square Garden" PT Barnum built was actually at
Madison Square, not at the location of the modern MSG (over Penn

long ago.

Title: Another 1971 Keyboard question ...
The recent discussion of Ned Lagin’s guest appearances reminded me of another question that has been at the back of my mind for many years. Who plays the piano part on the Skullfuck version of Wharf Rat? The album sleeve notes credit Merle Saunders
the master and
common to all versions, or just a mistake made somewhere up the line above me?
All help grately appreciated,

realized before this morning that they were pre-Allman Brothers. I quess

Isn't "Workingman's Blues" a Merle Haggard tune?
on the 13th, but all of this is just conjecture.
I wonder if this "James A. Hudson" character is still writing. It would be
nice to contact him for more info. However, an Internet search of "James
A. Hudson" turns up many hits of which few look like the right
person. I'll try to check into it further.
This little book also has chapters on the Band, Creedence, the Chambers
Brothers, and other great bands of the time. A true time capsule, even if
the author is a little clueless.

r a million drummers. It really is a patchwork
quilt of hours of multi-layered studio magic as well as great performances.
I agree that the basic track most of the time is the 2/14/68 show, but
some of it also uses studio tracks for the base. An interesting concept
that I don't think has been tried again (too much work??).
