The sid changelog doesn't seem to be relevant to this bug but I can try it later if needed. I recall I found some kind of workaround for this at the time, hinted by a self-compiled webp-pixbuf-loader_0.2.4-3-1_amd64.deb. That has long been supplanted by 0.2.7-1+b1 without any regressions either. Thanks for following up and this can be closed. --Kent

Bug#1054570: webp-pixbuf-loader: renders black webp images in geeqie
Package: webp-pixbuf-loader Version: 0.2.4-2 Severity: important Tags: upstream The 0.2.4 build of webp-pixbuf-loader has an issue with GdkPixbufLoader which causes it not to render webp images or create accurate thumbnails in Geeqie. 0.2.1 is unaffected but assumed to be compiled against a DSA-5497-1 vulnerable libwebp. The current 0.2.5 upstream does not fix this but there is an active pull request which addresses this issue. https://github.com/aruiz/webp-pixbuf-loader/pull/73 Geeqie seems to have merged a workaround which is refered to in the above pull request. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.5.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages webp-pixbuf-loader depends on: ii libc62.37-12 ii libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0 2.42.10+dfsg-1+b1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.78.0-2 ii libwebp7 1.3.2-0.3 ii libwebpdemux21.3.2-0.3 ii libwebpmux3 1.3.2-0.3 webp-pixbuf-loader recommends no packages. webp-pixbuf-loader suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
