I'll try to get it done and uploaded in the next couple of weeks I guess. Cheers! Chris

It sounds like kicad-library-utils should be packaged its own source package. I can do that if no one else wants to. I'll file an ITP in the next few days. Cheers! Chris
Bug#1136660: kicad: ship from_csv_generator.py please
Hello Ari, Am Thu, May 14, 2026 at 02:43:46PM +0200 schrieb Ari: > > Package: kicad > Version: 10.0.1+dfsg-1 > Severity: wishlist > > Dear Maintainers, > > kicad upstream has a script to generate symbols from csvs: > kicad-library-utils/symbol-generators/from_csv_generator.py > > It would be nice if one of the debian packages would include this script, > probably kicad-symbols the source you referenced is (from Debian POV) another source which should probably also get end in a own Debian package. We could maybe include these files and helper also int the src:kicad package. But for this someone need to step up and take responibility on doing that. I've no further knowldge on how to use these scripts and helper, that makes it nearly impossible for me to provide and package the stuff into something useful. To me best would be to get this all integrated into the KiCad source code as these tools are also related to KiCad. Regards Carsten
