Information about gcc 2.95.3

Dear gcc maintainers, I'm asking you about a problem about gcc. At this moment I have gcc (and cpp also) version 2.95.2 on my computer. Since I want to compile the kernel 2.4 (I have 2.2.17 now), I have seen in the README about compiling kernel 2.4 that it is better to compile it with gcc 2.95.3
