Actually no this is not really a "bug" in GCC, just your assumption about x87
fp math.
Anyways this is duplicate of bug 323.
Adding -ffloat-store fixes the issue.

Still reproducible with newest gcc-4.3.
gcc-snapshot seems to be older than gcc-4.3 currently, so not tested
with that, yet.
