did you check that in all cases 4.1.2-21 is used? note that upstream
gcc 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 fail on unknown warning options, this is a
backport of PR28322 for the debian packages.

I confirm this to be a bug in gcc-4.1. On the same machine, it
compiles the same program differently in an i386 chroot and in an
amd64 chroot. Here is the program, conftest.c:
int
main ()
{
return 0;
}
In the i386 chroot:
$ gnatgcc -c -Wno-overlength-strings conftest.c
$ echo $?
0
