have libc6.1-dev.
Those need to have architectures added to them in order for the autobuild
to work. (That or remove the dependency altogether. Given the versioned
b-d, that's probably not an option.)

Bug #158290 talks about an issue with gcc 3.0 on hppa. Specifically,
building perl 5.8 with -O2 fails tests, while -O1 works.
Any thoughts on the subject? mawk also suffers from the same ailment.
