I am trying to install TREND antivirus. I have done some work, but the install is stopping with: no compat-libstdc++-package. I have downloaded this from somewhere in rpm; converted to deb with ALIEN. When trying to install I get:
dpkg -i compat-libstdc++_8-4.3_i386.deb (Reading database... 97011 files and directories are installed). Unpacking compat-libstdc++ (from compat-libstdc++_8-4.3_i386.deb) ... dpkg: Error with treatment of compat-libstdc++_8-4.3_i386.deb (--install): trying to overwrite «/usr/lib/libstdc++-2-libc6.1-1-2.9.0.so», also in the package libstdc++2.9-glibc2.1 dpkg-deb: underprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe) Theres where errors during treatment of: compat-libstdc++_8-4.3_i386.deb Does anyone have a solution? What does compat-libstdc++ supply? Why is there no such deb-package? Is it possible to solve this by making some links to any libraries? Hilsen Helge Kr Opsjøn
