Hi all,
I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop, but this is not a particularly
laptop-specific question.
This laptop has an Intel810 soundcard with WinModem. I am trying to get
this going under Debian, mostly unstable.
I tend to roll my own kernels. I use ALSA, and have the snd-intel8x0m

modversion.h.
There is no any modversion.h in kernel 2.6.5.
In 2.4.18 everything worked.
Tried to copy modversions.h from 2.4.18 to 2.6.5

hi all,
i have a winmodem driver compiled, installed, and working.
weirdness: when i load the daemon at boot-time via init.d, the daemon
loads, but the modem only responds to a query when console window is
opened. modem commands and output are then echoed to the console
window.

Dear all,
I'd be grateful if someone who owns/has experience with the Acer Aspire
6060 tell me whether it comes with a winmodem? I'm offered a second hand
one at a good price and would like to strip Windows off for debian. If
it is, then that would be useless. I presume that winmodem is
