Hi all,
I have an Intel graphics card and I was wondering what are you
planning for Squeeze. The current Intel driver in unstable is 2.9,
which is already 2 releases old.
Are you keeping this as the release driver for Squeeze? With the
freeze happening probably in 6 months, this 2.9 driver will g

Anthony,
I'm glad you were able to find a solution that meets your present
needs...
The state of xserver at the moment in sid is a very fast moving target.
To my best understanding , what is happening is that all the video
configuration is being moved to the kernel kms is just the fi

I don't have the hw anymore to try this out. The bug can be closed as far I'm
concerned.
I'll try to reproduce this with latest packages, If I get access to such
hardware later.

After reading NEWS.Debian.gz for xserver-xorg-video-radeon I followed
the suggestion to turn off KMS by editing
/etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf. I could then switch back and forth
between X and VT without problems.
Perhaps this information should also be included in the documentation
for xserver-

Is this still true with the newer radeon drivers + kernels?
Andres
is this still a problem with the newer radeon driver from squeeze? If
so, could you try getting the even newer one
from sid (you'll need a newer kernel as well, either 2.6.32-10 from sid or
2.6.33 from experimental). For this you will need to enable Kernel
modesetting. add *radeon* to /etc/modules

Hi Folks,
You were absolutely right. I had installed that one to play with KMS,
but 2.6.32.4 solved all the problems...
Hardware was

for anyone needing to know.
I am running the nouveau driver now for the past couple of hours. I
can say that it works for a regular use. I tried glxinfo but it
segfaulted. The output is shown below.
$ glxinfo
