Avro project:
1. Not much happens for several months.
2. Doug announces that he wants to cut a release candidate soon.
3. Frenzied activity arises as everybody tries to get their patches into the

Personally, I think it's a good design decision that Avro doesn't support
unsigned types.
Whether you use signed or unsigned only makes a difference if you expect to
have numbers between 2^63 and 2^64-1 (if you have numbers between 2^31 and
2^32-1 you can use the Avro 'long' type instead of the 'i
Take a look at the shell script build.sh at the root of the repository. It
shows the command that is run to build each language. You can just run
those commands directly for the languages you're interested in.
