Would it not be be cool, if one could just point one's copy of OpenOffice
BASE at the Pointbase tables and invoke the "Copy Table Wizard" to move them
to JavaDB or HSQL or whatever is the official corporate standard
ace either.
Because it is context sensitive, a reviewer would not find the delimiter
form if they were just exploring the menu tree to see what features
OpenOffice.org BASE offered.

What you might want is a wizard that exports the data and automagically
calls up a thematic mapping solution such as QGIS, uDig or gvSIG.

I repeat, I am not saying a GIS add-in is not needed in OpenOffice.org, I
just wanted to provide some idea of the state of the art for thematic
oriented GIS (as opposed to full-blown GRASS).
