a different location. So I would suggest to wait to rename the maincss.css.

We fix the compilation warnings as we come across them.
There is no plan to clean them up. However, Adam Heath has been doing
some work in that area.
We could always use additional contributors! Maybe you could coordinate
your efforts with Adam.

though a menu may be hierarchical (which is I think why Al set it to
begin with). S
I agree with Jacopo that layout is subjective and each user will have
their own preferences. Maybe once the Visual Themes feature is finished,
we might have the ability to choose our preferred layout.
