The login box does seem overly bright to me, it doesn't feel like it fits with
the rest of the theme. My 2 cents anyway.

standard.
Simply search for "login screen" in google images and you will notice that
while the user is in front of the login page he will not see anything of the
layout he will have after being logged in.
