What did happen with powerstad -t is that I got a scrolling list of info
down the page. Four columns. But no "text message".
I did a straight cut and paste of the APC config section from the readme
file that Charlie made.

Yes. I would refer you to the powstatd documentation though - I haven't
tried it myself, just read about it.
It uses a master on a fixed IP with slave versions listening to
