Did you take it as part of a career development? If so, has it helped you
make the move you were trying to make?
Thanks -

Well, what the heck, I sent the site creators a quick note to see if
they would be interested in an expanded version of the site
specifically for interaction design :-) Looks like a fun little tool!
Have fun,
Best,

I can't tell you whether it's better than the other two, but I can

syllabus for the 3 courses and come back with some more detailed
questions?

Hi Tim,
First of all I would like to say i have no experience to those
universities you mentioned but i have experience @ Middlesex

I took M364 last year and really enjoyed it. The price of the course,
~£400 compared with ~£900 for M873, is significantly less than
others, which was (and is!) good for me. There is a reasonable amount
of web stuff on there and, although some of the course does feel a

Hi David,
A few months ago, when the IxDA meetup happened at the UW, I was impressed
that students from the Technical Communications/UX path, students in the
Industrial Design curriculum, and Computer Science students were all
present. And they were working together on projects. They made it sound
Hi Chauncey,
Thanks for your reply, you have given me some very valid points to
consider. Overall, the high level goal of this exercise is to start
moving towards a more objective approach to critique within an
organization that has been (for the most part successfully) founded
on genius design.

Hi Tim,
I was in exactly the same position as you in August last year. I
chose to do the HCS course at City, I'm just coming up to the end of
it very soon.
It's a great course but not sure how it compares to the other 2. If
you have any questions fire away,,,

Thanks for this response Caroline. I agree that the course isn't
web-centric (in fact I'd like it to be a little more web-oriented
given my personal interests!). Of course HCI covers a huge area as
you rightly point out.

Hi,
Ah, nostalgia. :) My first job on the field was not even called
anything like design/HCI. It was 10 years ago, very accurately at
that, and I was in a developer position to design and program
auditorium control systems. These touch-screen things you all must
know and which never work

Hi,
I'm currently studying on the OU course M873, User Interface Design

it's of interest to this discussion.

and usability etc. It's supported with some multim
