Serena Composer isn't open source, but it is free.

Its been mentioned in previous threads and I've been meaning to try
it out myself, but haven't gotten around to it. If you give it a
shot, let me know how you like it.

I am using Windows XP.

There have been a number of attempts at wireframing support for Cold
Fusion over the years. Pretty niche, but I do like playing in the open
source world a lot for establishing clear prior art (ala the p*tent
dialogue). I open sourced an early javascript web analytics bug back
in '01 for that
Another tool (free and open source) along these lines is Compendium
(www.compendiuminstitute.org). Some are using it for IA and similar
applications.

And while not "open source" it is platform independent and pretty
inexpensive. All of our designs and prototypes at Messagefirst start
out as sketches and paper prototypes first, before we ever lay down a
single line of code.

Hi Oliver,
sometimes, the pen & paper are quite good tool (free you from
disturbing by the computer software), and some time, the post-it notes
and a big paper/white board are super cool, and after that you can
copy your original design from paper to powerpoint.

Hi Oliver
OverSite might cover your needs. It's not Open Source but at 35 $ it's
affordable.
I've got a short review of it here:

Hi Oliver,
While not specifically for wireframing, I've been using "CMapTools"
for both concept mapping and some basic wireframing as well. I don't
know of any free tools that come close to a tool like Axure though.

Hi Oliver,
Although not a dedicated wire-framing tool, I've used OO Draw in the past.
It's been quite good and you definitely get your money's worth out of it! :)

I notice DENIM is on v2 after what seemed like a long spell. I love
the concept but got tired of the scalability issues in the v1 release
I was using. The release notes indicate they're addressing those
problems

Hi All,
Any recommendations for an open source wireframe tool? Something that is
similar to Axure - the license is too expensive for me.
Thanks,
Oliver
