I get Comcast cable, and I haven't noticed any interruptions.
Ironically, just last night, at midnight, Comcast had a scheduled shut
down for a few hours, speak of the devil. But Verizon is running a DSL
special for $14.95/
DSL and Cable are both perfectly capable of providing a good, stable
connection for streaming internet radio. That said, there are also
horrid examples of each.
Your best bet is to talk with people in your local community. Where I
live, DSL from the phone company has a pretty dang good reputation
