Squeezecenter has an option to browse by music folder if you want to see it just like in explorer. This is slower, though, since it has to read the directory structure as it goes. For your Rolling Stones problem, it probably has to do with the way the music is tagged. SqueezeCenter's library brow

It is noticeable how the web interface speeds up if you only use a subset of your library (as I sometimes do for testing). I imagine the RAM footprint might be affected by the size of a library but have not personally noticed any change as the size of my library has increased. If you want to know
