Time Capsule as my primary backup, but I like to have a secondary backup
on a portable drive for safety and transferring new music to the system

as I said I'm not a Guru so how do I set it so the music folder on the
radio will scan the various disks.
For example say I have d:\music1 and e:\music2

When playing your own music the controller (or Radio as well) has a
Music Folder setting which is say D:\music on a Windows machine.
If I want to now add another volume say on E:\ music

So, I've been unable to scan my Squeezebox music libray for quite some
time, & am unable to figure out why. Now when I use my Squeezebox, I
press right to look at the artists & it just swipes back to Artists.
Same with Albums etc.

rate. They all used to play through the Squeezebox before, but now I
get a connection time out. Would the antivirus software cause this to

Squeezecenter has an option to browse by music folder if you want to see
it just like in explorer. This is slower, though, since it has to read
the directory structure as it goes.
For your Rolling Stones problem, it probably has to do with the way the

I used to see something like this (many SC versions ago - I'm running
7.1). I *think* it was caused when the SC rescan was long enough for
another MIP scan to start before SC had finished; SC saw that MIP's
data had changed, and started scanning again... (As far as I can tell,
every scan when MIP
? Its solved itself now.
All is fine again.

Hello, I've just updated to SqueezeCenter Version: 7.1 - 22170 Windows
XP - EN - cp1252 after running 7.0 fairly happily for months. I have
music ip setup with over 15000 tracks, no problems until now.
Just updated to the latest build yesterday, and squeezecentre, set to

It is noticeable how the web interface speeds up if you only use a
subset of your library (as I sometimes do for testing). I imagine the
RAM footprint might be affected by the size of a library but have not
personally noticed any change as the size of my library has increased.

I have a similar problem.
I installed SqueezeCenter, selected "no" when it asked me if I wanted
to use itunes, but it scans my itunes music anyway. I wind up with two
copies of a lot of my music
Here's how my music folder is organized:
- c:\music\lossless (flac files)
- c:\music\converted lossle
None that I can find. If I look in slimserver and browse playlists
there are two playlist that I created with Flac files. There are about
6 itunes playlist that I did not create that are made up of Mp3's. If I
use explorer and look in the folder f:\flac\playlists there are only the
two playlist

iTunes playlists can't neither be edited nor deleted. But they shouldn't show

I don't know how you managed to only see one of the two, but iTunes can
definitely be the problem here. I guess iTunes only sees your MP3 files. Even
if you didn't include the mp3 folder in SlimServer, it will read iTunes'
