Greetings to you all.
I'm new to the Drake world and I just recently traded for a R-4A/T-4X combo
that had sat unused for many years. While the equipment is in pretty decent
shape over all, all of the mechanical elements were gummed up with hardened
grease, oil and nicotine deposits (apparentl
Does it still work when the transceive switch is in separate or xmtr? When you
say it will not go into tune what do you mean? No output? No plate current?
Need more info. A wild guess would be the transceive switch wafers.

Sorry Garey. I guess I assumed that it would be asssumed by those on the

Ya gotta give us more than that!!
Is the power supply connected?
Is it plugged in?
Is it turned on?
Do you hear it 'thunk' when you turn it on?
Do the tubes and pilot lamps light up?
Are ALL the tubes lit?
Does the meter move?
Does it do 'anything' in any switch position?

T4XC was working fine and sat for a while (6mo) Hooked up with R4C . Switched
to tune. Nothing. It would not go into tune. Any thoughts of what I should
check first? I rocked the switches and double checked the cables, etc.
Thanks

I've got an original cut sheet dated Dec. 1979 on the 254HC & 454HC, but
doesn't have wiring info. The difference between the two seems to be freq

wiring booklet should cover wiring. I can scan this and send it along if you
Does anyone have a junk t4 or r4 chassis that has the RF Tune or Preselector
control in it? I'm looking for one of these drives for my R4 B receiver. I
need the red pointer and knob also. Thanks,

No replies from Boatanchors so will try here. This mic came with my
used TR4C many moons ago and I set it aside because the element was
dead. Sure would like to have a copy of the original instruction
sheet. I try to have paperwork for all my gear and accessories.

Fellow enthusiasts,
I have for sale some new, unused, original diode boards for the Drake L4, L4B,
and L7 linears. These are just the boards, NOT populated with diodes or
equalizing resistors. The foil traces are already factory tinned for easy
soldering. Set of two (2) boards, enough for

I just another couple of thoughts.
Looking back through the million or so messages regarding this problem, I asked if the voltage
across R45 'dipped' when you rotated the PLATE control, and you replied that it did NOT, rather it
peaked just like the RF output, falling off on
