Unfortunately I'm experiencing the same issue. I believe email notifier
has nothing to do with it since I don't have any. The only trigger seems
to be changing default scale for menu and title bars setting.

After watching a few more days most of the time compiz apparently just
doesn't come back at all from suspend, all that is seen is a black
screen with a mouse cursor. That is what happens probably 95% of the
time.

I was able to reproduce that bug with Totem, VLC and Chrome. I didn't
test other programs.
The key to reproduce is the "Always on Top" setting. You have to right
click the window decoration and check that setting and then just go to
fullscreen and lock the screen. You will see the video or webpage

It affects only 2 of the Gnome games - AisleRiot Solitaire and Freecell
Solitaire. The other 3 - Mines, Soduko, Mahjong; work with the global

There's currently no UI to remove applications from the messaging menu.
Thunderbird should do this by itself when you remove its last account.
You can remove it by changing the "applications" gsettings key in
com.canonical.indicator.messages either in dconf-editor or with this
command:
gsetting
A few questions:
- does it happen only with the Gmail webapp?
- "Sometimes partially loads Gmail in the window. System locks up, keyboard
doesn't respond", even when everything loads properly , do you still have the
keyboard lockup? (does it happen all the time)?
- can you: glxinfo | grep "OpenGL
I confirm this too. I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and KDE 4.13.0.

On Thunderbird startup the Thunderbird menu entry was created within
indicator-messages notification envelop even though I had closed the
Thunderbird application right off without configuring any email
accounts. It turned out that thunderbird had created a new user
regardless
I hope so. :) At the standard size, the text was cut off too often and
looked like separate menu items.
