Using Xubuntu here too. This bug makes it VERY hard to resize windows.
It is also very hard to resize other draggable items, such as bars
dividing panes inside windows.

catalyst) from my AMD HD Radeon 6770M to my integrated Intel graphic

Thanks alecu - it seems that the code moved on in the second branch, and
my experiment suggests the key in question is:
com.canonical.indicator.sound warning-volume-decibels
If I set this to -16.0 (the default is -8.0) the warning appears around
the 50% mark of the indicator.

Hmmm, you have a good point.
I imagined that the way apps would declare that they do notifications
would be the same way that they declare they use your location, or
camera, or or contacts, or an Online Account: by actually trying to do
it. I thought it wouldn't matter that it's a prompt in all th
one part of the issue got fixed, the screen is still blanked if you
switch users using the indicator though...
