Try the following:
Using Windows Device Manager make sure the specific COM Port (Your USB cable
with the chipset) is configured for 38400 baud 8N1. You can even modify the
COM Port number here if you want.
NOTE: In the FT DX 5000 itself, set Menu 032 GENE CAP BPS to 38400
In DX4WIN:
Set
Under file/preferences/packet1 there is a field for age of packet spots.
I put 15 minutes in the field but packet spots in the packet window never go
away unless I manually right click and delete packet spots older than 15
minutes.
Am I missing something? Seems they should automatically go away

Have you hit the ESC Key after your search?
This will cancel the search routine, and reload your log. At least it always
has for me way back from V3.

The F3 search into sites like QRZ hasn't kept the search data in the log
for sometime now. One Known Problem and Workaround (KP&W) is to save the
QSO, then research on the data and add it to the existing QSO using F10 to
finally save the data.
That issue has been around for a while now.

Hi Paul, I noticed a little problem and I am wondering if it can be changed in
the next release. If I do a search for a call in my log and it doesn't return
any matches I have to reload my log or it shows up empty when I go back. Can
this be changed so that it reloads the log after completing
And with that configuration, using a USB port as a serial port, you'll need
to go into that port in Windows and make sure you have it set to be a
virtual serial port with the settings that match.
