Hi,
I originally built my K2 #2204 about 5 years back, and have had a
ball with it, bringing it up to date with all the latest mods and small
alterations, but, like others on the reflector here, I was finally bitten
by the " build another kit" bug and consequently built myself another K2 #
Hi
Today K2 #5577 put out it's first RF after a relaxing 5 day build (
it's not my first K2 build) and it all came up to specs nicely.
Thanks to the expert packaging of Christine, Marina, and Val, there were no
spare parts and nothing missing to really worry about.

Hi,
I just made a discovery today that might help others having
difficulty identifying color code bands on resistors and the
like...especially if you aren't working in natural lighting conditions. Go

Recently I got a few small parts off Elecraft, and for the want of

panel screws,( including the 2 on
Hi

External Speaker for the K2" ( by Dave VE6DRW) as he was unable to find the
time to assemble it. I made it up pretty quickly and was most impressed
with it's performance, even though the speaker wasn't mounted in the

One item for sorting parts I haven't seen mentioned is glazed earthenware
...the XYL here has some very nice shallow dishes with sloping sides
that "go missing" when I have a kit on the bench! They are quite solid and
not so easily flipped over if something is leaned on them during use(
Hi,
My K2 is fast approaching it's 5th birthday and soon after I built it I
expressed a wish that it would be nice if VFO's A & B retained the mode
they were set for. ie so you could use CW on VFO A and SSB on VFO B
As the K2 was originally regarded as "CW only" by most,it probably didn't

Hi
I crawled out of the cot at 1500z this morning and listened around 80
and 40m and the band was full of the RSGB ( BERU) CW Contest signals.no
sign of (or room for) EQP signals, so it was back to the cot.
I'll take another listen this evening here 0800 - 1200z and see if any
