If reinstalling from the CD doesn't fix it, there may be permissions
issues (some folders are set to deny you permission.) This is a
thorny issue, and i wouldn't be able to trouble-shoot it without
being there. I would, however, start by searching for the files in
question on your computer

I’m using Finale 2011 on a Mac OS X version 10.5.8.
When I open Finale 2011 I get six messages:
Files cannot be checked for SMP compatibility because thenecessary file
“SMPCheck.bundle” could not be found.
You must reinstall from your Finale CD to use this feature.
