I notice the same latency with HRD, and only HRD. My solution is in
DM780 Options to click on
PTT by Comport, rather than PTT by SW command. Also activate and set
PTT comport in PowerSD

Essentially a lot more SSTV work and the exciting PSK Propagation

now integrated in DM780.
In DM780 select Tools menu select PSK Reporter / Options.
Please enable this option - let's get the reports flooding in.

Dudley,
Thank you , I am not alone ...
What make me feel that it's an issue with powersdr/vista and/or handling of
the comm is that it is working fine with Pwrsdr 1548 which, if I recall
correctly was just prior to some drastic changes of the pwrsdr design

Jean-marc,
I have noticed the same issue with the 5K and 1K using Vista and
HRD. PowerSDR runs fine until HRD is started, then the S-meter and
controls become sluggest. Same setup works fine under XP. I have
not located the issue in Vista yet.

Neal,
If you want to work the digital modes with the fabulous programs included
with HRD (PSK31 & DM780), don't forget that you need to install VAC also.
