Also, mask clearance is one of those things that each fab defines a
minimum for, so I've gotten into the habit of checking mask clearance
for each board. I added an action for it, too...

Have you tried viewing the mask? Just enable the mask
People,
I'm running the 20060907 release of the gEDA tools. I'm getting
complaints from board houses that the vias placed on the board (either
auto or manual) have no solder mask clearance (i.e. the vias and the
mask diameters are the same).
I realize that I can modify this situation by manually

How does gschem2pcb deal with this? Does it include the components of the

Solved! Ahhh... =) I would be willing to bet my issue was with the
"./dir_name". I believe I tried $HOME, ~, dir_name, with the origional
gschemrc file. Had I tried ./dir_name it probably would have worked. It is
nice to know that gschemrc has been dated with gafrc. Thank you

Please put all of this into the FAQ ... it's quite non-obvious!
First I want to hear that it solves the OP's problem.
BTW: I found a misdirection in my original post. Here's a cleaned up
version which I can stick on the wiki -- assuming it works for the
OP.

Thanks Werner-
The version I was running is the version that was available on
http://www.h-renrew.de/h/tragesym/tragesym.html . I missed the fact that it
is now included in the gEDA package, and thanks to your email I am now
running 0.0.9 which was included in the gEDA package I installed. Thanks

I think you can if you don't copy or redistribute the schematic
itself. IANAL, but I think the schematic as a *published work*

Think about it this way. Can I take a best selling novel scan it into an

Yeah, that's the tricky question. The board *as made* may be
copyright-protected, but the *circuit* on the board may not be. So,
if you take Ronja's schematics and do your own layout, the resulting
board may not be illegal, but co
I think the printed circuit board itself can have a copyright.
Therefore, copies of it can not legally be made except for "fair use".
What "fair use" is for a pcb I have no idea. Certainly building and
selling copies would be a violation of US law. It would be up to the
copyright holder to seek an

Right, unless you patented it.
Even if it was patented.
The patent hold would have to defend the patent.
