Hello,
Please correct me if I'm wrong but now we can rotate components in PCB only in
90 deg. steps. Is there any option to put elements (I'm thinking about big TQFP
packages) at 45 deg to each other? It would make my layout simpler if two ICs
would face each other with corners not edges.

Only developers should be using a CVS version.
Thanks. I found the tutorial and am reading it now. I'll have to
grab gnucap from CVS.

I use EPS to transfer gschem circuit diagrams to OO, it works almost fine. The
first problem is that gschem is not taking line width into account when
calculating the image extent and this results in slight image clipping. The
second problem is with postscript font not exactly matching the vect

I am really surprised that OO has (still) problems with important vector
formats EPS and PDF. Including measurement data as bitmap graphics in

I have searched for quite awhile and I cannot seem to find the answer to this
seemingly easy question:
How should I correctly associate a DNI or DNP (Do Not Populate) attribute to
a component so that the Pick & Place file will know not to include that
component in the final output BOM?
Thanks in

The issue of needing symbols for your favorite parts will come up
repeatedly, so the beast approach is to simply get good at making your
own symbols.

The easiest way is to use one of the many sumbol generators, such as

There are others based on mine (like jgboxsym) and others unrelated

Hopefully someone have a link to where I can download them, but what's

I had already tried that, but I still wasn't happy. In the end I
output to an EPS file, converted to a PDF, imported into Inkscape,
scaled up a bit and exported to a PNG

Is there any way to improve the quality when outputting to a PNG file?
The text and thin line quality is not really useable.

Short answer: no.
Long answer: yes,
Is it possible to turn off pin numbering in gschem at a schematic
level? Obviously it is possible to do by editing the actual symbol and
then placing it, but can it be done after a symbol is placed?
Thanks,
