******************** SIGH! ***************************************** That's from 2 days of trying to get lvm to work on top of linux software raid (md) level 0 to work.
YES! Got it finally! Whew! After wading through a half dozen ancient docs (dating back to references to linux kernel 2.4.0 test10!) I put it all together on a gentoo rc3 server system with 2 100 gb drivers. Never fear I share. :) I'm going to write up documentation this weekend while it's all fresh in my mind (and the pain is still there) and publish it. I'm looking over the instructions for publishing the into on the gentoo.org website and will probably have it submitted by next weekend. It was by no means easy (for me anyway). I had no experience with linux raid or lvm when I started 2 days ago. In hind sight I would have created this server in about 15 extra minutes added onto the beginning of the normal stage1 install. The lvm docs on the gentoo.org website was a good starting point but adding linux raid under it made for a few problems. That and getting to understand lvm and md :) Looks like I might get to bed tonight before midnight! YAH! :) (4am last night) Peace, Robert -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
