That said, I'm thrilled about the WPS work in Geoserver already, and with
the python extension it is even more flexible!

Keep up the fantastic work!

Thanks for the answer!
Regarding Postgis backend I was thinking (hoping) about a really simple
model:
Just write the sql statement with parameters:
SELECT St_buffer([WPS_INPUT_GEOM], 100) as WPS_OUTPUT_GEOM.

I am really thrilled by the potential of WPS in Geoserver.
I have been using R spatial (http://r-spatial.sourceforge.net/) with
postgresql (http://bostongis.com/?content_name=postgresql_plr_tut01#87) and
I think it would be great for the WPS roadmap to consider support for R
processes.

I tried again today with no luck. Maybe I am missing something ? Does the
Pyhon module depend on something else?

Hi list,
I have been trying to get Geoserver running with WPS and Sextante
algoritthms without succes. I am downloading latest Geoserver Snapshot from

I am really excited about the wps implementation in GS. At Foss4g I had a
small demo of using scripting languages to make new WPS processes. I want to
try this out but I am a little confused on how to get started.
First, I looked for the Python Extension here:

Hi,
I am playing around with the WPS query builder.
I was trying to do a buffer on the local vector layer: tiger:poi layer in
Geoserver.
The query gives me an error:

I am trying to WPS import a WFS feature to a local postgis db with this xml:

I am testing the new WPS which is really great. It comes with some JTS and
Geotools porcesses. How do I enable the Sextante Algorithms ?
