Lauren I have always used a very dull steak knife (sharp ones are too sharp and will cut the cassette) mine is probably over 20 years old (now I'm dating myself). I'm old school so I still use that but the rest of the techs will use the para trimmer. The para trimmer is more ergonomically fri
