Does measuring section thickness on slide scanners get affected by the surface
imperfections on the section?
It has been indicated to me that surface imperfections certainly hinder
scanning speed but what about the actual thickness measurements?

The retraction on the HM355E can be turned off by simultaneously pressing the
"A" button and the button to the left of this (with the double arrow on it).
The retraction light (yellow LED) will then go off. If the light still remains
