We use backless drafting stools made by Office Star ordered from www.cymax.com.
The saddle seat gets funny looks but we wouldn't use anything else now - they
roll, tilt, go up and down and eliminate the pressure on the thighs

We have office and lab chairs from Haworth. They're very expensive, with ours
around $800, but they have a lifetime warranty. We just had two sent for
repair or replacement that were 10+ years old and there was no problem.
