Are you using synthetic xylene in your H&E/COVER SLIPPING protocol. If yes, you might want to consider ending your protocol with the real thing (XYLENE). I had the same situation until we switched to real XYLENE. No more H&E fading. THANK YOU,   PATTI RUBEN-NELSON  H.T.(ASCP) PNP LABORATORY
