Hi: We routinely perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) to detect antigens on rat tissues. A mouse mAb should be fine for use in your rat samples. You will not need a special kit, just an anti-mouse secondary Ab. One runs into trouble when they use a mouse (or rat) primary on mouse (or rat) tissue,
