The Steam launcher now quotes each parameter (i.e "+connect" "+ip:port"
) which the HL1 engine does not correctly parse (this fixes game
launching problems when you have spaces in the path name). Adding those
extra quotes is a good work around (for all the arguments after the
applaunch parameter),
Chucking in quotes around the +connect ip:port bit fixes it. I guess
"Fixed use of quoted parameters in "-applaunch" command lines" means
"added quoted parameters as a requirement for command lines" ? :)

of ports for cs

If you patched your Linux system as you do with windows, maybe you would
not get hacked.
Security is more about the users knowledge to secure the system then
