What data, and type of data are you contemplating putting on mod27s?
application data? CP paging?
CP data may be better left on smaller models due to its single I/O channel
program at a time architecture for critical data like paging. Applications may
fare very well on large dasd.

We have what we call simulated 3390-27 (32760 Cyls) and 3390-54 (65520
Cyls) DASD. They both work. There is an APAR VM64115 for MDC above
cylinder 32760.
