Getting rid of those users in Q RECORDING isn't easy: requires a cold start

Another starting point, if the guests are connected via vSwitch, would be to
"query vswitch" to get the name of the virtual switch. This will also tell
you how many guests are attached to the virtual switch. Then "query vswitch

switch.
Hello, GnanaShekar.
Welcome to the wonderful world of z/VM and zLinux; I think you will find
it a very friendly and easy to use environment.
To see how many guests (virtual machines) are running running, try this
command:
CP Q Names
This will show you a list of all of the virtual machines

No, VMNFS does not restrict the number of connections. Turn on the 502
trace using the SMSG command ("SMSG VMNFS M MASK 502") or by updating
the :parms tag in the DTCPARMS file and try again. If the request is
getting there, that should show you why it is failing.

What is a good ratio of Central to Expanded storage to support an zLinux
Oracle workload under zVM 5.3?
The LPAR has 16GB assigned and our initial storage split is 12 Central,
4 Expanded. The workloads haven't been moved to this environment yet so
we have no tuning numbers available.

Hi Alyce: If you are new to VM I would also suggest using 2nd level VM for
testing, using the 1 cyl offset and G class user. This is a very safe
environment, easy to create and so easy to get R/O access to any data on
first level as Chris pointed out.
It's also very good to have an Emergency o
I will be out of the office starting 10/17/2007 and will not return until

I am in Gathersburg , MD and will have very limited access to e-mail.
With secondlevel systems it is also much easier to copy things from
firstlevel to secondlevel. For example (supposing you install CPHOST from
VM's download lib):
CP1 LINK someone 191 RR
ATT * R/O
ACCESS Z
And there you have (in R/O mode) all files of minidisk "someone 191" at
