We are on the US east coast and use EDT/EST for all out VM systems.
I have always lived and worked in the same time zone that the systems have
had.
Are there any "strange things" to watch out for as far as support is
concerned if we have system that runs with GMT as the time zone?
Thanks.
For CMS purposes we have 2 sets of mdisks - 19x and 29x. The idea being
that when I install the new release I use the set not in use by the current
production CMS.
I am installing 530 and its time to use the 29x set of mdisks.
I have a ZVM ppf override to change the 19D to 29D and to change the S

We have an old REXX exec that I had to modify.
This is a rather simplistic description but it consists of 2 parts - 1 to
set up the environment(variables) and 2 to use the variables setup in 1.
Bottom I had problems modifying it so I re-wrote it.
The original used GLOBALV extensively - part 1 woul

Thanks for the replies - I will try and debug the situation with the info.
BTW - I tried
NETSTAT TRACEONLY userid ENDTRACEONLY
NETSTAT OBEY MORETRACE IUCV SOCKET
but still did not get any info displayed in the TCPIP console. Is this a
problem?
We have an application (no source) that uses IUCV to communicate with
TCPIP.
I want to trace the data that gets sent back and forth so I can potentially
change this to use Rexx sockets which we will be able to support.
I opened a Q&A ETR - they pointed me to ETRACE, TRSOURCE and CPTRACE.
I looked

We have been using VIPA for a few years as well - and DO have TPF.
No problems here.

Depends on RSU size. z/VM 520 RSU 0601 takes about 35000 4k blocks

We are also planning to upgrade to z/VM 520 within the next few weeks - any
idea when the fix will close so it can be ordered.

We have an old application that makes extensive use of SMSG.
We would like to incorporate being able to SMSG to other z/VM systems.
The manuals seem to indicate that I have to have a single source directory,
shared dasd for spool , PVM etc. We already have PVM installed.
Do I need all that stuff
We have it and use most of the components.
