How many USB ports have you tried?
Do other devices work when attached to the same port(s)?

Recently my ipod touch isn't being recognized by itunes when I plug it
into the usb. I usually charge the ipod on a wall charger, and haven't
needed to sync new music on it in awhile, so I don't know if the issue
could be from itunes itself (one of the updates from the past year?)
or something else
